ROSSNER,
Dr. Fr. John Leslie Dr. John Leslie Rossner,
beloved son of the late Eleanor Seale and George Rossner
and brother of the late Edward Rossner and brother in
law of the late Mel C. Zwaig, uncle of Shirley and Phil
Gander family, Nadine and Stephen Braidwood and Amaya
Sage and Dustin and Heather, Mel Zwaig's children and
grandchildren, brother in law of Hannah Garrick and
spiritual brother and Abbott of Sr. Leona Hartman and husband of 38 years of
Marilyn Zwaig Rossner, made
his transition peacefully after his brief walk by taking four deep breaths on
Monday, August 27 at 2pm at the Sivananda Yoga Camp
in Val Morin, Quebec. He was surrounded by his care givers, Swamis and the many
friends at the Sivananda Yoga Camp. His beloved
Marilyn Zwaig Rossner was
right beside him. Dr. John Rossner was an
Anglican/Episcopal priest as well as a professor in the Department of Religion
at Concordia University in Montreal since 1972- he has taught and done research
in comparative religion and culture. Graduate of Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut
(1952) Dr. Rossner held subsequent graduate degrees
in Classic & Ancient History, Theology, Psychology & Religion as well
as the History & Philosophy of Religion respectively from Brown University, Heed University,
Nashotah House and McGill University. He
has done additional graduate studies in Patristic & Byzantine Theology at
St- Vladimir's (Russian Orthodox) Seminary in New
York and post-doctoral research in the U.S.A., Britain
& India. In
1975-with the help of his wife and colleague, Dr. Marilyn Zwaig
Rossner and a number of prominent scholars and
scientists- he founded the International Institute of Integral Human Sciences.
Today the I.I.I.H.S. is established with Fellows located in several continents
and nations-largely due to his efforts- and serves as the nucleus of a network
of outstanding scientists, scholars, religious leaders and professional persons
from throughout the world. The International Council on World Religions & Cultures
is a division of I.I.I.H.S. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Stein, the members
