Richard John Folsom, 82, of Westwood, Mass., and formerly of Norwood, Walpole and Wareham, Mass., died unexpectedly Aug. 18, 2012, at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Mass.

He was born in Boston Aug. 17, 1930, son of Earl Wilfred and Ada Marion (Shannehan) Folsom. He attended Roxbury Latin School in Boston and graduated high school from Bordentown (N.J.) Military Institute. He attended Boston University before graduating from the New England Institute of Anatomy, Sanitary Science and Embalming in Boston in April 1956.
